Using Skype in the Classroom, students are able to learn from professionals in various fields around the world, play mystery Skype to find out where another class lives, and go on virtual field trips.
Mystery Skype can be used for Geography lessons since you play a guessing game with another class from around the world to find out where they live. Classes take turns asking yes/no questions based off geography to narrow down where the other class is located. An example of a question is “Do you live in the United States?” Students go off the answers to this question to pin point on their maps where the other class is located. It seems to work better if each student has their own atlas or if you break the class into two groups, one that asks questions and one that answers questions.
